7 inch Archos 7 tablet available for $200
Archos announced a series of home tablets to start shipping this year a couple of months ago. Finally, the Archos 7, their widescreen touch device is available and with an excellent price tag for what it can do: only $200.
In fact, the Archos 7 is designed to be a portable mini computer you can easily carry with your wherever you might travel (weighs only 0.8 lbs), while providing access to most of your daily applications and online sources. It comes with Integrated Wi-Fi but you can also connect an USB 3G modem for Internet access on the go, if you need it.

Archos 7 - affordable and powerful travel companion
This machine is built around an 600 MHz ARM processor, and it’s powerful enough to run an Android based OS and all kind of multimedia applications (you can download a bunch of them and customize your interface so you can always easily access the desired content). For instance, you can use it to watch HD movies (720p only), listen to music or online radios, websurf, play games, etc. Too bad there are only 8 GB of storage space on it and there’s no support for extension cards. Plus, you get decent autonomy, on a single charge the Archos 7 providing up to 7 hours of video playback or above 40 hours of audio.
Oh, and don’t forget an important aspect: the device offers a high-quality 7 inch touch display, with 800 x 480 px resolution.
So, as you can see, the Archos 7 is truly a reliable multimedia companion. And for $200 bucks, it’s even cheaper than a standard PMP, although it can do so much more. At the moment of this post, the device has not started yet shipping, but you can preorder it online on Amazon.com. Also, you will find there more details, pics and reviews from previous buyers, so if you’re interested in one of these Archos 7 gadgets, be sure to check that link.
