Acer Aspire 1820PT – goods specs and price for a touch netbook
If any company could make a tablet netbook that would offer good performances while still being affordable for the regular buyer, that would definitely be Acer, as they are known for this exact ability.
And they did it with the Aspire 1820T, a new 11.6 inch mini laptop with a capacitive convertible touch-display that is going to sell for around $599 in the US.
So, you get the same slim body from the 1810T or 3810T series, but this time with a foldable display.
Unfortunately, you also get the same glossy finish for both the case and display. So expect some annoying smudges on the screen. But at least it should work better than the one of the T101MT, as it is capacitive.

Also, performance levels definitely will be improved, this device packing Core 2 Duo processors (ULVs perhaps), up to 8 GB of memory and even SSD storage drives. Plus, you get an accelerometer that will automatically change between Portrait and Landscape when using the gadget, although this doesn’t happen too smoothly (see the video for details).
As said, the device will have starting prices of 599 Euros in Europe ($599 in the US) and release date in yet unknown, along with info about battery life (which is extremely important for a portable netbook). But stay tuned, more info on the Acer Aspire 1820PT should be published pretty soon, and we’ll keep you up to date.
