Acer introduces three Android tablets and huge res smartphone
Acer is really going all out these days, as they announced several exciting future products during a conference in New York.
Engadget.com reports that Acer is finally plunging into the tablet game and announced two Android tablets, a 7 inch and a 10.1 inch model, respectively.
It was about time, we might add, as Acer always delivered great touch based devices and tablets seem just the right step.
The larger variant has full multitouch support, an impressive 1280×800 display, a dual core 1GHZ processor, and a HDMI output. There’s also a 5 MP rear camera and a HD front facing camera ideal for video calling.

You will be able to play 1080p videos using HDMI and there is also a built in gyroscope for gaming. No word on pricing, but rumors should emerge before the end of the year, as the 10.1 inch tablet will ship sometime in April 2011.
The 7 inch version has the same resolution, is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm CPU and supports Flash 10.1, just like the 10.1 incher and has Wifi and integrated 3G. The two future Acer tablets have the same release date and work on Android Froyo.
At the same event Acer also introduced a smartphone, which has a huge resolution. On a 4.8 inch smartphone you get a 1024×480 resolution, which is kind of great. The gadget was only shown for a brief time and displayed an unknown version of Android OS and the so called “evolution of Acer UI”. The unnamed smartphone has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, two cameras, a 2 MP front facing one and a 8 MP rear camera (with LED flash) and HDMI output. It can record 720p video and has a six axis Gyroscope and accelerometer package. It will have a curious 21:9 aspect ratio and connectivity wise there’s Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi.

Acer Smartphone
As with the tablets, there’s no word on pricing, but the smartphone will also come out around April next year.
