Apple netbook rumors – will Apple make a netbook?

I’m sure you all are as curios as i am to find out if Apple are going to launch a netbook or not. I for one was expecting to see it this month at the big Apple event where they announced the iPhone 3GS, but it proved i was wrong.

Anyway, the Apple officials claimed they will enter the netbook market when they’ll have ready a device that will be able to revolutionize this segment. So… this seems they’re working on a netbook. And it might be THE netbook.

Anyway, in the last 3-4 months there have been many rumors about this Apple device that will be supposedly named Macbook Mini . And that will probably be a smaller version of the Air, with less impressive hardware specs and hopefully a smaller price tag. Although, knowing Apple, their netbook will be quite expensive, maybe somewhere in the same price tag as the Vaio P (~$1000).

You can see bellow a couple of Apple netbook version, the way several graphic designers imagined them to be. The first one is probably the more realistic one though.

So, as we’re still waiting for a mini laptop from Apple, here’s what i would like it have:

• decent CPU (something around 1.8 – 2 GHz) + at least 2 Gb of RAM
• decent keyboard + touchpad (or trackpad)
• good screen (something around 11-12″ with at least 768px height resolution)
• autonomy, autonomy, autonomy (the longer, the better – and seeing how well are the new Macbooks performing in this area, this should not really be a problem)

And yes, as i was saying, price always matters. And Apple will have to be very careful here, cause we’re living in a period when the regular person cannot afford to throw away thousands of dollars for things they do not need.
