Asus 1015PN EEE PC with dual-core and ION spotted

As you guys might know, the Asus 1015N is one of the most awaited netbooks right now, promising to bring the dual-core Atom N550 processor and Nvidia ION with Optimus, all on a 10 incher.

It seems however that Asus won’t exactly have a device called 1015N on the market, as it will supposedly go as the Asus 1015PN. Not sure if that means it will bring the textured finish (like the 1015P) and or the soft matte one, we’ll just see about that. We do know it will be available in a couple of different colors though.

Now, what we know about the Asus EEE PC 1015PN right now is based on specs from Amazon Germany, where this product was listed for preorder. Like I said, no pictures available yet, but the 1015PN will bring as expected:

• Intel dual-core N550 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz
• 2 GB of DDR3 memory be default
• Nvidia ION graphics with Optimus
• 10 inch HD screen (1366 x 768 px) nop, that was only a rumor; we’ll get the standard matte 10 inch 1024 x 600 px display on this one
• Windows 7 Home Premium

Asus 1015PN with Dual-Core Atom and ION to be available in Europe

Of course, that ION is probably the 8 Cores version meant for 10 inchers, but it should still be pretty powerful. And that N550, while not extremely powerful, it’s a dual-core and will bring a nice boost in everyday performance for this 10 incher, while keeping battery life decent.Oh, and if you remember, the 1015PN was launched initially with N475 single core processor, but was now upgraded with the new CPU.

What’s really cool is that Amazon.de has this listed for 379 euro, which is an amazing price. However, I doubt this will be the final one, it would be so great to get all the goodies inside the 1015PN for this price, but, like all things sounding too good to be true, it probably isn’t.

We’ll just have to wait and see for now, as more details will be available soon about the Asus 1015PN and we’ll update asap.

Update: The 1015PN was also spotted in the States as well, for $429 on Amazon , with Free Shipping included. Fair price. And if considering it steep for a 10 incher, remember that this is the best you can get in this class in terms of performance, as it is the only 10 inch netbook with dual-core processor and ION graphics.
