Asus 1016P EEE PC – new photos and details

Part of the new 10 inch line of Asus netbooks, the EEE PC 1016P will be a member of the EEE Diary family, a device meant for life on the go, providing a perfect balance between portability, reliability and performances. We’ve first seen the 1016P back in March when it was unveiled ad CeBIT in Germany and we’ve been expecting it ever since.

The device is still not available on the market, but should be soon. We do have however new photos and details on it.

First of all, on the exterior you should expect a slim and compact body, encased completely in anodized aluminum. Upper casing, palm rest and the area around the display will be made of this reliable material, so we’ll finally be able to say bye-bye scratches and smudges. Once you’ll open the lid, you’ll see the ergonomic chiclet keyboard and a bigger trackpad, plus a matte display. All these make the Asus EEE PC 1016P much more friendly to those traveling a lot, as it is more rough now and thanks to the matte screen, you will be able to use it outside.

Inside, not much has changed from the current 10 inch netbooks like the Asus 1005PE or Asus 1001P. This one offers the same Intel N450 + GMA 3150 platform, but hopefully with bigger storage, more memory and Windows 7 Home Premium. There are some improvements though, like the faster Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity and two USB 3.0 slots which will be very useful when you’ll want to transfer information fast and safe.

You will also get a big 6 Cell 63 Wh battery on the 1016P with a promised life of 14 hours, which adds another plus on the already stuffed list.

As you can see, the 1016P EEE PC is breathtaking. In fact, there’s no other netbook as beautiful available right now, not even the HP Mini 5102 to which this one could be compared somewhat.

I for one can’t wait to see this mini laptop in stores, hopefully soon. Thus, stay tuned for more info, as we’ll update with new posts on the subject once we find more details on this Asus EEE PC 1016P netbook.
