ASUS Eee PC 1008P with Intel Pine Trail – first look
With the new Intel Pine Trail processors for laptops ready to ship in the next weeks and new devices built on this platform scheduled for early next year, we should see more and more pictures with new to come devices in the near future. Today, it’s the Asus EEE PC 1008P. Actually, it’s a designer edition of this Asus 10 inch mini notebook, signed by Karim Rashid (not that i ever heard of him before
).
Anyway, this new Asus 1008P looks pretty good, with a very slim body and chiclet style keyboard. Also, battery is removable (it comes as a slider and goes easily into its dedicated space on the back). This edition comes with a pink exterior, but I’m sure the 1008P will also be available in other colors (Gold and Black are predicted).

New Asus EEE PC 1008P with Pine Trail processor inside
On the inside there will be the new 1.8GHz Intel Pine Trail N450 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi N + Bluetooth, 1.3MP Webcam, completed by a 6 Cell battery and Windows 7 Starter.
This Asus 1008P will be released in late February 2010, but there’s no news on when it will get to the US or how much will it cost. I’ll update the post once I know more.
