Asus Lamborghini VX6 – 12 inch netbook with amazing design and ION
There’s a new premium netbook in town and is called the Asus Lamborghini VX6. As you might now, some of best laptops ever produced by Asus bear the Lamborghini brand and they impressed with their looks and performances.
The Asus VX6 is a 12.1 inch mini laptop. Of course, design is aggressive and the Lamborghini bull is present on the hood (lid case). So, on a first looks basis, you would expect top notch performances out of this notebook, like you would expect from a true Lambo.
However, this one is not a Murcielago, not even a Gallardo. Mostly because Asus decided to equip it with a dual Core Intel Atom D525 CPU, plus 4 GB of RAM and latest generation Nvidia ION graphics. The graphic chip saves some of the performances and will prove useful when running games or HD multimedia content. However, don’t expect too much out of the CPU.

And that’s both a shame and something i cannot understand. There are tons of ULV powered netbooks available and even some with the next generation ULV Arrandale chips. However, Asus went for Atom, probably because they wanted to use the ION graphics. Still a Core i3-330M+Intel HD graphics would have proven a much versatile option in everyday tasks, although it would have been somewhat poorer in games. However if you want a 12 inch gaming netbook, you won’t go for this Asus VX6.

Beautifull outside, dissapointing inside
Besides this problem, the Vx6 is top notch. You get a nice full-size keyboard with individual keys, big trackpad, good quality display, Bluetooth and USB 3.0 . Plus the astonishing looks.

As a conclusion though, I can’t stop thinking this Asus Lamborghini VX6 is like a giant with a poor heart. Will face most tasks, but will for sure fail in front of tougher challenges. And that’s too bad, considering this Asus will be expensive and in order to sell, it should have been impressive.
Update: Rumors say this Asus will go for $699, which is expensive but less than i was expecting actually. It will come with a 5200 mAh battery, so except decent autonomy, especially if it will come with Optimus (we don’t know that yet).
