Asus to offer USB 3.0 on netbooks

USB 3.0 is one of the next important upgrades to come to netbooks and laptops in the following months. USB connected devices have become more and more popular, I for one have a bunch of flash drives and 2 different external drives on USB.

The new standard comes to improve transfer speeds for these devices, up to 10 times over what the previous USB 2.0 offered.

Asus will offer USB 3.0 on their new netbooks, as well as on their nettops (like i wrote in this post). However, we don’t know if all their netbook lines will get the upgrade or only the premium version from the Prime class (like the Asus 1018P). Hopefully we’ll see them on the standard 1015P and 1016P lines too .

Also, there’s no info on when will these new devices with USB 3.0 be available on the market, but it shouldn’t take more than a couple of months.
