Asus UL30JT with Core i5-520UM available in US

I don’t know if this is actually fresh info, but I just noticed today that the Asus UL30JT is available in the States, from Amazon.com .

I tested the UL30JT some months ago and I know I’ve been quite impressed by its performance. This device has been available in some parts of the world for a while, but not in the US. Until recently.

You could read my Asus UL30JT review for more details. I will add some words on my impressions with it from back then.

In terms of specs, it came with the Intel Core i5-520UM  processor, 4 GB of DDR3 memory, 500 GB hard-drive and hybrid graphics ( Intel GMA X4500 and Nvidia GT310M chips, with ION as their ruler). So a true mobile powerhorse, capable of handling all you everyday tasks, multimedia content and most games (as long as you don’t want to play them on full details).

The Ul30JT is also a looker, although the black aluminum finish does catch smudges easily.

All that raw power in this slim and compact body did came with cons: the device was kind of noisy and got kind of hot on the back. Not really disturbingly hot, but hotter than other products.

Like i’ve said, the UL30JT is now available on Amazon.com , for $849 , with Shipping Included . For the moment it can be preordered, as it should ship in the next 2-4 weeks. It is 100 bucks more expensive than the previous generation, Asus UL30VT, and if you desire power from your computer, those are money well worth buying.
