Looking back over CES 2010

With CES 2010 in Las Vegas over, it’s time to take a short look on the devices and technologies showcased there. And of course we’re only going to speak about the ones that have anything to do with our domain: mobile computing.

Last year netbooks were the big thing at CES, with all the producers displaying new versions. This year, although we saw quite many new mini laptops (mostly bringing the new Intel PineTrail hardware), it’s pretty obvious touch devices caught most of the spot lights.

So, the great boost in the netbook’s domain last year, it seems that 2010 is officially the year of the tablet. And while still not a fan of such toys for everyday use, I won’t mind having such a gadget for browsing and reading, for a reasonable price (around $250). And that might happen pretty soon.

Now, as a followup to our post about the Cool Stuff seen on CES, here are some of the gadgets and technologies displayed in Las Vegas this year:

Netbooks and mini computers

Touch Tablets and eBook readers

Technologies and concepts

And these are only few of the amazing devices seen on CES (unfortunately by others, not by me… but hopefully I’ll be able to get there in the next years too. CES is definitely an experience every gadget lover should live once in a lifetime).

In the end, it’s pretty obvious technology around us evolves faster then ever. December 2010 might see us posting from a multitouch dual-screen laptop or a super inteligent smartphone that can really do almost anything you want. Or perhaps one of those long lasting readers, but this time with flexible color displays.

If i were you, i’d start saving for Cyber Monday 2010 and the other sales periods at the end of the year. There’ll surelly be many nice gadgets to spend our money on, by that time.
