Dell Latitude 2120 details – beefy 10 inch netbook
The Dell Latitude 2120 is a 10 inch netbook which is now available in Italy for a hefty 579 euros price tag, according to netbookitalia.it. It is indeed a pretty big price for a netbook, but for that money you get some integrated features which might make this a good deal after all.
The design resembles the one we had on other Latitude netbooks, meaning you get a minimalistic design with a colored lid. The chassis is spill resistant and also shock resistant thanks to a sort of rubber coating that should protect it from damage if it falls down. Also, the keyboard offers protection from microbes attacks.
Dell offers its clients the opportunity to personalize the lid by adding your name or the one of your company and you can even add images.
The article also says that the LED on the lid lets teachers keep an eye on students, but there’s no other info about how this works. Moving on, the specs of the netbook are as follows: Intel Atom N550 1.5 GHZ processor, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250 GB hard disk drive, 10.1 inch 1366 x 768 back lit LED, Intel GMA X3159 integrated graphics, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3 in 1 card reader, audio jack, VGA slot, 3 USB 2.0 ports and a 2.0 MP web cam.
The 6 cell battery should last for about 8 hours and everything runs on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Dell offers some upgrades for some extra money, like the 659 euros version, coming with a bigger 320 HDD, multi touch screen and the Broadcom Crystal HD card for HD playback and probably some gaming. You can alternatively also go for a low power 128 GB SSD and change the OS to Windows 7 Professional. Basically, with the standard version you get a limited machine for work and browsing the web, while adding some of the optional components gets you a more versatile netbook.
