Dell Streak 5 to be nearly indestructible
A while ago Dell announced us that their Streak 5 mini tablet will come with an ultra-durable front cover, called Gorilla Glass . So durable that it will be able to withstand almost any kind of damage man can do to such a device.
At that time, i was sure this is again just some marketing bull*hit, but… after taking a look at the clip below, I have to admit, this Dell Streak will be tough. See for yourself.
As you can see, that guy hits the screen with a pen pretty hard and there’s no damage to the device at all. Impressive, ay? Of course, if you’re going to stab it with a knife, it will probably break, but the basic idea is that screen will be able to withstand everyday scratches and bumps without a problem. However, I’m curious if “Will it blend?” ![]()
All in all, the Gorilla Glass proves to be something i would want on my next tablet. The good news is that other devices will use this technology too in the near future, not only the Dell Streak. So yay for that.
