Dell Streak 7 tablet announced, with 4G from Verizon
Dell adds 2 inches to the “so and so” Dell Streak 5 and announces the Dell Streak 7, the company’s newest entry on the tablet market.
The device will have an Nvidia Tegra dual core processor, supports Flash and will unfortunately run on Android 2.2, having a starting handicap in comparison with all the tablets that will go for 3.0. On the brighter side, the tablet comes with Dell’s tile based Stage UI, but it remains to be seen if it can fill the gap.
Laptopmag.com states that the tablet will be able to connect to T-Mobile’s expanding 4G network and will reach speeds up to 22MB/s. T-Mobile’s services for the Streak 7 tablet also include video and TV on demand. Hm, what else? Oh, you’ll be able to sync the tablet with other Dell devices running Stage UI, meaning some notebooks, tablet and smartphones and move content between them.
Don’t expect this right away, but “later in the year”. There’s also a hotspot feature and reading magazines will be possible via a software called Zinio. The tablet will have two cameras (a 1.3 MP front facing one and a 5 MP one in the back) and will support WiFi and Bluetooth. The display has a 7 inch Gorilla Glass screen, while the initial storage is 16 GB. The video preview shows an SD card flying into a slot, so there’s probably the possibility of expanding up to 64 GB.

Dell Streak 7
From the same video you kind of get the idea that the Streak 7 is mainly a device meant to share media and interact with others over the super fast connection, and less a tablet to play around on your own and use as an MP3 player from time to time. We should see it in stores in the coming weeks for a medium consumer price.
