Early details on the new Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T are impressive

Acer is the biggest seller in the netbook’s segment, mainly because they offer decent devices with incredibly good prices. However, that’s not always the case. Sometimes they just have some amazing products, one of them being the rumored Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T. It will be officially launched by the end of this month, for now we have only a couple of leaked info. But these details are more than impressive!

First, the Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T will be a 11.6 inch mini laptop. But, unlike the other 11.6 inch devices Acer has at the moment, the Aspire 1810T and the AS1410, this one comes with buffed performances, as it will boost an ULV Core i5 processor. Connectivity options have been improved and Acer also worked on the exterior aspect and design. The results are quite good, check them out in the pictures below.

So, in terms of specs, this Aspire 1830T will offer:

• dual core Intel Core i5-520UM processor (1.06 GHz but can jump to 1.83 GHz thanks to Intel’s Turbo Boost technology)
• up to 4 GB of memory
• Intel HM55 graphics
• Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth and optional 3G
• HDMI output
• 6-Cell battery that should allow around 8 hours of life

11.6 inch Acer 1830T - powerful and good looking - simply impressive

Besides that, you get a matte casing, chiclet keyboard (although space between keys is kind of narrow) and what seems to be a decent trackpad with two click-buttons and distinguishable scrolling zone.

So, as you can see, this Acer 1830T is one of the first steps towards really capable compact laptops, offering performances while being able to provide good battery life. Also, is one of the first to implement Intel’s new ULV platform based on the Core i5 line, thus expect it to be quite expensive. I would reckon around 500-600 bucks, but who knows, based on how affordable Acer notebooks are, they might offer it for even less.
