Fujitsu MH380 netbook gets reviewed – quite an improvement from the predecessors

Personally, I’m not a big fan of Fujitsu netbooks. Mainly because their previous models were much of a disappointment, with heating problems and poor batteries. Now, they launched a new 10 inch version, the MH380 on the PineTrail platform, and things seemed to have vastly improved, as the folks at Laptopmag got their hands on one of them and gave it a quick spin.

They liked the bright HD ready display, better than most other 10 inch netbooks can offer. Fujitsu also put together a very nice keyboard, comfortable and properly sized, although it’s not a chiclet one like on the new Asus or Toshiba netbooks.

Besides those, construction is good and the overall device is pretty solid (but the quality of plastics is pretty poor), and Fujitsu even managed to provide a proper battery, capable of nearly 7 hours of autonomy.

On the other side, the device is quite bulky and heavy (1.9 inch think and 3 pounds weight). Comes with a tiny tiny touch-pad and a weird scrolling system, which is not necessarily bad, but will take some time to get used to.

I for one also consider this Fujitsu MH380 incredibly ugly, with that glossy shinny finish and round corners.

And considering that Fujitsu is planning to sell this netbooks for $449, i doubt they’ll find too many buyers. There are after-all better devices for far less money available on the market right now.

You can read more about this Fujitsu on Laptopmag .

All in all, the MH380 is quite an improvement from its predecessors, but still far from a product that could make the name Fujitsu popular in the netbook’s segment.
