Glossy Acer 1420P tablet seems to be quite a gem
I’ve said it before I’m not a fan of Acer devices or touchscreen laptops. However, i have to say the new Acer 1420P tablet might be the one that’s going to make me change my view, because it’s simply a gem both in terms of looks and features.
First of all, as you can see in the pictures in this post, there’s not much you won’t like about this Acer, except perhaps the glossy screen and case.
However, the slim body looks very nice and is completed with a nice ergonomic keyboard, similar to the one found on the 1810T netbook.
In fact, you can say that the 1420P is the convertible brother of the 1810T, as it brings the same 11.6 inch screen , only with touch functions this time (and yes, it does support multi-touch actions). And it will bring on Windows 7 OS, with its native support for touch commands.
On the inside you’ll get ULV processors (single, but there might be dual core options available later on), up to 8 GB of RAM, Intel GMA X4500 graphics, 320 GB hard-drive and top notch connectivity and extra features, including Wi-fi N, Bluetooth, 1.3 MPx camera, HDMI, etc.
So, as you can see, the Acer 1420P will be something. It will surely not go cheap, but since it’s an Acer, i believe prices will start from somewhere around $520 – $550. The netbook is not yet available in stores and nor do we know when will it land in the US, but I’ll keep you posted on the subject once i get more details.
So, it seems i found a tablet netbook that i could enjoy. All that’s left now is to find some applications that would use the multi-touch screen at its full potential. Any ideas?
