How to install Honeycomb on your Nook Color
Hi there, here’s a rather technical post about how to install Honeycomb on your Nook Color.
There’s another post just s short scroll down telling you about how the developers from Android Community found a way to install Google’s OS on Nook Color, an e-reader from Barnes and Noble with the specs to be a decent tablet. And considering the $250 price tag, is a good alternative for those looking for a basic slate.
So, here’s the full set of instructions we found on Android Central, but keep in mind that you have to create an account with them in order to download the goodies. First, you have the download the image created by the developers. You can do this by using a direct download or a torrent client. After that, get a 4 GB SD card. Some said that these cards don’t work and others said the burning process lags severely, but eventually resumes and works fine.
Anyway, if you have a +4 GB card, use that and everything will be fine. Load the image from your computer on the SD card and boot you e-reader with the card inserted. When you open it again, it should run Honeycomb.

If you’re a MAC user, you have to do things a little different. You have to open a terminal window when you know which drive is the card mapped to. Be very careful and do not select your hard drive by mistake. Type diskutil list and then unmount that drive by writing diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk# . After this, you should be prompted that the unmounting on all volumes on disk was successful. Then you have to type dd if=nookhoney02.img of=/dev/rdisk# bs=1m and if everything worked out fine, the card should now contain all you need to install Honeycomb on your Color Nook.
The link I provided above gives suggestions also about how to install Android Market and how to overclock the 800 MHZ to 1.1 GHZ. If you’re interested, give it a go.
