How you can turn a glossy EEE PC into a matte one
I always complained about how difficult glossy surfaces are, as they tend to catch fingerprints in just seconds after you opened the box, but also scratch easier and reflect light when used outside. The Seashell EEE PC series from Asus is one of the most shiniest of all, but there is a solution to get rid of the problem and get a sleek matte case instead.
The solution si rather hard to implement, as it’s actually a mod that would require covering all the glossy parts with a matte film. Sharkеxe, an EEEUser forum member from Russia, shows us how it can be done on an Asus 1005HA. The upgrade is very cheap, as the film will only cost a couple of bucks. However, requires quite skillful hands, as you’ll have to disassemble the case, motherboard and display in order to properly stick the cover.
The results are however astonishing, as you can see from the pictures below.
So, if you want to transform your glossy EEE PC into a matte one, here’s how you can do it. But, if you’re not handy with the tools, better leave it so and go for a matte device instead (like a Toshiba Mini). Otherwise you’ll risck ireparable damage on your machine, and i doubt you’d want that.
