India makes netbooks now: the Intex N101-WC1100

The great and very known laptop producer Intex (:P) has just announced its latest creation: a netbook, called Intex N101-WC1100 . From the start, i must say that’s the easiest name to remember from all the product names I’ve ever seen. Not!

Inten Netbook - from India

Inten Netbook - from India

But enough with the cheap irony. Intex comes from India, thus this netbook is made there. According to Techtree.com , it will have decent specs: 10 inch screen, 1Gb of RAM, 160 GB drive, Wireless, Bluetooth, card reader and webcam. All these in a dual colored case, either black or red. The device weights around 2.4 lbs and will boost up to 4 hours of battery life.

So, this Intex N101-WC1100 has similar specs with most of the other netbooks on this class. It will be cheaper though, with a price tag around $400 or less . But i doubt it will see any success outside India. Still, it targets a huge market (1.2 billions) so i must say this is a very smart move from Intex.
