Intel Core i3-380M processor benchmarked on the U36J Asus laptop
The Intel Core i3-380M is one of the newest series of ULV processors to be found in next generation ultra-portable notebooks. It is hardly available right now, but will be in the laptops to be launched in the next couple of weeks. And like all ultra-low voltage processors, it is designed to offer top performances, while being energy efficient.
I’ve got the chance to find this CPU on the Asus U36J sample I have on my desk right now. So you must take into consideration this might not be the final version Core I3-380M, but a pre-production unit used in samples notebooks.
Anyway, this processor is part of the Intel Arrandale line, is clocked at 2.53 GHz and comes with integrated Intel HD graphics and support for DDR3 memory. More details are available on Intel’s site.
Anyway, I got the chance to run a couple of standard benchmarks on it and the results can be found below. I do have to add that on this config, the Core i3-380M processor was paired with 2 GB of memory and Nvidia 310M dedicated graphics, and results were obtained on High Performance mod (thus using that graphic chip, and not the integrated Intel one).

SuperPI results

Cinebench 11.5

PCMark Vantage

3D Mark Vantage - Performance mode

3D Mark Vantage - Economic mode
I still have access to this computer for a couple of days, so if you’d like me to run some further tests, please just leave a comment.
