Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t reviewed – nice touchscreen, sluggish performance
At the moment, the LenovoS10-3t is the only 10 inch mini laptop with a touch-display officially launched. It will pretty soon be available for end users, but for now some got their hands on it and gave the little netbook reviews.
One of the most credible sources out there is Laptopmag.
They posted a review of the Lenovo S10-3t recently, and while the device has a couple of noticeable pros, the sluggish overall performance makes them all pail.
I currently have the similar Asus T101MT in tests and i came to the exact conclusion as the folks at Laptopmag : although the idea of having a touch-display on a netbook is great, nowadays hardware is just too poor to provide a comfortable working experience.

Fancy Lenovo S10-3t - cool idea, poor performances
But, here’s what the reviewers likes on this Lenovo mini laptop:
- the touch screen (capacitive and glossy) was pretty good, especially after calibrated properly. Comes with automatic orientation (similar to the accelerometers found on phones) that allows for automatic changing between Landscape and Portrait. Also offer a custom Touch Skin, with some applications.
- Keyboard is OK, although not a chicled one
- good hardware inside (N470, 2GB of RAM, 250 GB hard-drive)
- pretty light and sleek for a convertible
Also, there were too main aspects that might keep potential buyers away from this device:
- performances are poor. The Atom configuration is just not good enough to be able to offer snappy responses, and that’s kind of frustrating
- battery life is poor also, as there’s only a 4 cell battery inside that will provide around 2.5-3 hours of life
- touchpad is cramped
And there’s also the price matter. The starting price for this Lenovo S10-3t is $549 and you’ll only get an N450 processor, with 1 GB of RAM and 160 GB storage for that kind of money. If you want to have the “more-powerful” version from this test, expect to get some extra bucks out of the pocket.
