Lenovo S10-3 and S10-3t, new netbooks with PineTrail inside
With all the producers getting busy in the early days of this year, Lenovo couldn’t just wait lingering. Thus, they announced a couple of new toys for early 2010: the Lenovo S10-3 and the S10-3t.
The first one, the Ideapad S10-3, is a prety standard 10 inch netbook and bascily the same as its predecessor, the S10-2, but with better hardware. Main features are :
- new PineTrail processors, N450 or N470 models
- 2 GB of RAM
- 320 GB hard-drive
- Wi-fi N, Bluetooth + optional 3G or/and Wimax
- Windows 7 Starter/Basic OS
- 4 or 7 cell battery (you can expect around 10 hours of life from the bigger one)
All these for a price starting from around $349, sounds like a very nice deal.
Update: There is already a version of the S10-3 available for preorder on Amazon, for $379 .
The S10-3t comes with even more goodies. It resembles the above in terms of specs, but offers some improvements:
- a bigger 8 Cell battery option
- the screen is 180-degrees foldable, so the device can be easily transformed into a tablet PC. It’s also capacitive and supports multi-touch gestures.

Improved S10-3t touch betbook with foldable display
This upgrades come for a price, as the Ideapad s10-3t will have prices between $499 and $599. Kind of expensive, and since applications that could really benefit from such a display are now scarce… well, i really don’t see why paying extra for it, yet (only my 2 cents, of course.)
Exact specs and prices for each version will be available in the near future, as these devices should hit the stores in the following weeks. Stay tuned for updates, as we have more info on new Lenovo products to be launched these days.
