Lenovo Skylight smartbook – video hands-on from CES
I was kind of enthusiastic when i fist got my eyes on Lenovo’s new Skylight smartbook. More details were released at CES, with many journalists and bloggers getting the chance for a hands-on. I only selected a couple of ones, you can see them below.
What’s obvious from the videos is that they shared the same enthusiasm as me and the device is really up to those expectations: looks amazing, is very light and very slim, comes with a nice interface built for online presence and multimedia playing and can run for nearly 10 hours. However, there was one thing I misunderstood when i first wrote my preview of the Skylight: it has no integrated memory, but comes with a 4GB memory stick connected (that you can of course exchange for a bigger one). The idea is to just pop up the sticks with your info (music, videos, documents, etc) and just use the content. Sounds ok, but some small integrated storage would have been nice too.
Check out the hands-on videos for more details.
First from Engadget with more details on the looks and interface.
And the second from the folks at Techzilla.
All in one, the Lenovo Skylight smartbook really sounds like a winner. Price is kind of steep though, as it starts from $499, but will be offered for less along with data plans from carriers all around the world (in US will probably be available through AT&T) .
For now, i really am looking for some detailed reviews on the little beast, they should come out pretty soon. Stay tuned for more info on Lenovo’s Skylight in the following days.
