Lenovo’s ThinkPad X201 mini tablet-pc spotted
What we have here could be called a netbooks only judged by dimensions. Everything else is just from another universe.
We’re talking of course about Lenovo’s X201 12 inch tablet-laptop, a mini-notebook that packs amazing looks and build quality with the advantages of having a convertible multi-touch display and the power of the new Core i7 processors from Intel.
Because indeed, the new Lenovo X201 will be offered with the ULV Core i7 and i5 : Core i5-540M (2.53 GHz) and Core i7-620LM (2 GHz). That’s possible thanks to the incredible TDPs offered by these sollutions that incorporate CPU and graphics on the same chip: 18W for the i5 and 20W for the i7. Combine these with 4 GB of RAM, Intel’s 5700MHD integrated graphics, SSD storage (or fast HDD with 7200 rpm) and an 8 Cell battery and you get quite a powerbox.

Of course, price is sky-high, the top version having a wooping tag of 3700 Australian dollars (that’s around $3250). That’s definitely huge, but you have to admit you will hardly find anything better in terms of mobile power than this ThinkPad X201 at the moment.
