Many new netbooks available for preorder these days

Like i said before, with the start of the new year, many many new netbooks emerged on the market. I will probably write a post about all of these new launches tomorrow, for now, here are some of the versions available for preorder right now, netbooks that are expected to start shipping in just a couple of weeks.

Asus EEE PC 1005PE – up to 14 hours battery life

The follower of the famous 1005HA netbook, the most popular in the US last year, the 1005PE is now available for preorder. Comes with a 10 inch display, Atom N450 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 250 GB hard-drive, Windows 7 Starter, Wi-fi N + Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and a 6 Cell battery that offers up to 14 hours of life on a single charge.

Asus 1001PE with the special textured body

Asus EEE PC 1001PE – great price/performance ratio

With similar specs as the above in terms of screen, CPU, memory and storage drive, the 1001PE netbook (direct follower of the 1001H) comes with a 10% better price. It only offer regular 802.11 b/g Wi-fi and no N, plus battery life is only up to 11 hours. But, this version offers a matte screen and a special textured case less prone to catching fingerprints and scratches.

It can be ordered now for $339 .

Acer AO532h – new 10 inch netbook from Acer

Unlike the older Acer 10 inch netbooks that used to come with less features than their competitors but great prices, the new 10 inch Acer AO532h based on the PineTrail platform offers almost all the other specs other netbooks from Asus or Dell do. Battery life is poorer though, with only up to 10 hours out of the 6 cell battery, but everything else is the same.

However, the price also raised to the same level as the competition, thus the Acer netbook lost perhaps it’s main advantage. But i’m sure further version will work on this “problem”

It can be ordered now for $349 .

Also, you should take a look at the new Dell Inspiron Mini 10 with price starting from $329 .

And don’t forget about the powerful Asus 1201N with Nvidia ION inside, that will start shipping from January 7th (and already benefits from a small 3% discount if you get it from here).
