MSI WindPad 100 – 10″ tablet gets official pictures

We haven’t heard much from MSI about their WindPad tablets lately, so we’re glad to see some news now. It ain’t much actually, but a bunch of official photos for the WindPad 100 touch tablet.

This one is in fact one of the few MSI touch tablets prepped for us this year. Brings the 10.1 inch display and is built on an Atom architecture, with the Z530 processor, up to 2 GB of memory, SSD storage and of course running Windows 7 (Home Premium based on the amount of memory). So performance should be OK, similar to what devices like the Vaio P for instance can offer. Connectivity ain’t bad either, as you get 2xUSB ports, Wireless, HDMI, Audio and there’s also a dock meant for it.

Now, in terms of looks, this MSI seems nicely built, although a bit chubby when compared to the slender body of the iPad. Don’t you think? Look at the pictures below for yourself and post your opinions.

What we know is that MSI has the Windpad 110 as well, that one powered by Nvidia’s Tegra and probably running Android. So it should be snappier and cheaper, and it also comes with a sleeker shape. More on that version on further posts.

Now, according to latest rumors, MSI plans to start selling these devices during this Fall in the States. The Windpad 100 should go for $499, which is as much as the iPad, so pretty expensive. But the 110 should a tad more affordable, hopefully around 400 bucks. More details should be available at IFA 2010 in early September, so stay tuned.
