Multitouch in a 11.6 inch tablet netbook: Acer Aspire Timeline 1820P
Each passing month we see more and more netbooks with touch enabled screens emerge on the market. Acer recently announced their Acer Aspire Timeline 1820p, a 11.6 inch such tablet netbook, the convertible brother of the more know Aspire 1810T .
The 1820P is in fact identical in most ways to the 1810T (or 1410 in the US). It offers same hardware (CULV processor, 1-2 GB of RAM, decent storage, 6 Cell battery) , same screen (11.6″, HD ready), same construction, same ports. However, the convertible screen added some new functionality to the device, along with an extra 300 g in weight, making the Timeline 1820p go to a total of around 3.6-3.7 pounds . But, you should also remember that this is also one of the few tablet netbooks with a multi-touch display right now.
This new tablet netbook from Acer will probably ship by the end of fall, with Windows 7 of course. As for Aspire Timeline’s 1820p price tags, I’ll reckon they will be somewhere around $550-$600 , as the standard 1810T cost $450 at the moment.
