New Vaio Z Sony laptops will be available in March, from $1000
I’m sure you know about the 13 inch Vaio Z, perhaps the most powerful and beautiful ultra-portable laptop available on the market right now. It was announced at CES with improved hardware and looks, and I told you about it in a previous post.
Now we have more news about this mini notebook: it will be available on the market in March in two different versions, with prices starting from $1000. However, the top versions, stuffed with plenty of goodies, will be a lot more expensive.
Both models come with 13.1 inch LED backlit displays (and knowing the quality of Sony’s screens from their previous laptops, i do expect these to be brilliant) and optical Blu-ray unit, all in a less than 3 pounds body made from aluminum and carbon fiber. In terms of performances, the new Zs are top notch: use the Core i7 processor with Nvidia GT330 M graphics, alongside SSD drives for a faster and smoother experience.
But there are some differences between the two versions Sony will offer from March. The standard one comes with “only” a 2.93 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD and HD ready display. However, the top one, called VAIO VPCZ11X9E offers processors up to 3.33 GHz, 6 GB of RAM, 256 GB hard-drive and full HD 13 inch display (yeah, you’ve heard it right). And these two are configurations i wouldn’t mind having on a desktop, yet alone a ultra-compact portable.
So, if you had any doubt that the Vaio Z laptops from Sony are the best you can get in terms of portable computers right now, just don’t. We’ll do have to wait till March to see the exact prices of these babies, but for now i have to say once again: “Wow!”.
