Asus 1016P – photos and details – drooling
Remember how many times i told you that the only thing Asus EEE PCs missed from being the best netbooks on the market is a not-glossy case? Well, guess what, it finally happened, with their new Asus EEE PC 1016P. Not only that they dropped the glossy case, they replaced it with an aluminum brushed one that simply looks amazing . And yes, Asus claims that’s actual aluminum used for the case.
But wait, there’s more: the inside palm rest is matte now too, and so are the display and the newly designed touchpad, now easily distinguishable from the rest on the surface (see the picture below for more details).
And there is of course the nice hardware inside, very much similar to the 1005PE, currently the top Asus netbook on the market: N450/N455 + N470/N475 processors (later on), up to 2 GB of memory, up to 320 GB hard-drives, Wi-fi N + Bluetooth 3.0, 6 Cell batteries with 48 wAh (11 hours autonomy) or 63 wAh (14 hours of life).

Plus matte interior and display, along with the new touchpad
No word on prices or availability, but for the moment, the 1016P line just managed to become number one in my top of Asus netbooks. So stay tunned, we’ll find more info in the next days of CeBIT.
