Samsung N140 – new Sammy with Windows 7

Samsung N140 is one of the many Sammy netbooks available on the marker right know. What makes is special is the fact that it was launched quite recently, just in time to equip it with Windows 7.

You can already find a couple of N140s listed on Amazon for around $400 (available for preorder), with their 10.1″ screen LED back-lit. For this price, you’ll get the Atom N280 processor, 1 GB of RAM , decent connectivity, a 7.5 hours battery and Windows 7 Starter. Besides those, you get a decent keyboard and a 1.3 MPx camera.

However, a buffed versions was spotted in India. It is supposed to have a better battery that could last up to 11 hours and is supposed to go for around $550 bucks (equivalent of the price in India). still, I’m not really sure if this is indeed a real device, as sources claim it has the same 6 Cell battery as the one listed on Amazon. But there’s also a small chance specs on Amazon to be wrong, as this product is new and only available for pre-order for now, like i said before.

I’ll keep you posted on the subject, as if that autonomy turns to be right, this Samsung N140 might become an interesting choice, although i doubt it will cost more than $430 in US, or else it will have no chance facing competition from Acer or Asus netbooks. Especially since for that kind of money, you can find better equipped devices right now. But hey, Sammy’s have been always pretty expensive; the higher price was justified by durability and good build quality.
