Weeee, Sony’s Vaio X on my desk (with unboxing pictures)
I’ve been drooling too see Sony’s ultra-thin ultra-portable Vaio X laptop for quite a while. Actually since it was announced, back in September 2009. And now i finally have the chance to see it live and give it a spin, as it landed on my test-desk ![]()
On a first look, this device is amazing. Looks great, is paper-thin and feather-light. Hardware is decent, although it’s built around a low power Atom Z series, but you get 2 GB of RAM and a SSD hard-drive, so the installed Windows 7 OS is decently snappy. And there’s also up to 9 hours battery life (with the extended one attached). Display is also a very good one, like Sony used us on their Vaio’s, too bad for the cramped keyboad and touchpad. And of course, too bad for the $1500 price tag ![]()
For now, here are a couple of unboxing pictures (sry for their low quality, I’ll get better ones for the review) of the little gadget. Stay tuned for more details in the following days, as i’ll play with the X for a couple of days and get back to you with a more thorough review. Probably by Friday.
