Would you get a docking station for your netbook?
Netbooks are supposed to be portable and always on the road, that’s why buying and even producing a docking station for such a device seems kind of a nonsense to me. But, if we consider that netbooks can become primary computers for kids and those without too many expectations from a PC, well, things start to make sense.
New Universe offers such a docking station for your netbook, capable of fitting 8 to 11 inch devices. It’s pretty slim, comes with extra 2 USB slots, DVD drive and an extra 2.5″ hard-drive enclosure. Also, it houses a fan that should really help keeping your netbook on a low temperature.
This accessory is available only on the UK market for now, in white (and a black version is to follow shortly), for a price of around $130 (£79.99).

For this price i for one wouldn’t buy such a device for sure. But i don’t use the netbook on my desk at all. So if you do and if you also need the CD/DVD, extra storage and the extra USBs this docking station brings along, then it might be something good enough for you. After all, the price is not as big if you consider it houses a couple of different accessories that would cost you more if you’d buy them independently.
